Replace the pillow
According to Joyner, an easy way to change the design of a living room is to change the pillows to match the sofa. “Combine velvet and linen, or silk with floral or animal prints or embroidery to give your sofa a fresh look,” says Joyner.
She also recommends collecting pillows from your favorite shops to create your own style.

Sofa blanket
Replace old blankets with new ones for the sofa with colors or patterns that match the space. The sofa may not be expensive, but a throw blanket will add a touch of class to the look. “Think of materials like fleece or linen,” she says.
Replace floor lamps with wall lamps
To give your living room a little extra flair, consider changing the lighting. Joyner used wall sconces because they add interest to rooms, especially in bedrooms because they provide a space for reading.

Replace LED light
Make your home more eco-friendly by switching all your light bulbs to LEDs. The light from LED lights is softer and more beautiful, while also saving energy. “I wanted my living room to look clean and not yellow, so I used LED lights,” Joyer says.
Art painting
Replace paintings that can be bought anywhere with real works of art. If you don’t have enough budget, you can start with works by local artists that you love, gradually upgrading to a collection over time.
Bring plants into the house
While artificial plants and flowers can be economical, as well as low maintenance,
But only real trees and flowers can upgrade your living space and your life. “Living plants are key to any beautiful room. They clean the air and draw the eye in,” says Joyner.

Wallpaper instead of plain painted wall
“While I love a nice paint color, wallpaper can transform a space. Specialty papers can add warmth to a living room,” says Joyner.
There are many different options, but Joyner recommends using printed wallpaper or grasscloth.
Change living room layout
Change the layout every season to keep it fresh. For example, you can move the sofa to face the fireplace in the winter and to face the window in the summer.
Joyner also suggests arranging furniture and adjusting sofas before guests arrive. “I touch every piece of furniture before guests arrive to give the room a fresh feel,” she says.
